Motive Archive was proud to represent this original-owner 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe on Bring a Trailer. Finished in Guards Red over Cashmere Beige partial leather, the car shows 22k miles and was specified with a six-speed manual transaxle, Motor Sound Package, and limited-slip differential.
The 993-generation Carrera S occupies a specific place in the late air-cooled 911 range. It pairs rear-wheel drive with the wider bodywork associated with the period Turbo, along with a split rear grille, revised bumper covers, and side skirts that distinguish it from the contemporary Carrera.
This example retains a clear factory configuration in Guards Red and is equipped with headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a power sunroof, a speed-activated rear spoiler, rear window wiper, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 18-inch hollow-spoke Technology wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires installed in July 2025.
Inside, the heated power-adjustable front seats are upholstered in Cashmere Beige partial leather. Equipment includes cruise control, a HiFi sound system, power windows, air conditioning, and a CD stereo, preserving the original touring specification that makes the C2S practical and focused without excess complexity.
Power comes from Porsche’s air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six with VarioRam intake, factory rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The optional Motor Sound Package added revised intake and exhaust components, while power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and optional limited-slip differential.
Recent service helps support mechanical clarity. An engine-out service in September 2020 included camshaft retiming along with resealing and replacing the valve covers. In July 2025, the spark plugs were replaced and the fuel filter, engine air filter, engine oil, and cabin air filters were changed. Brake fluid service and an alignment were also completed in 2025.
The car was accompanied by manufacturer’s literature, service records from 2016, a clean Carfax report, and a Florida title. The speedometer and odometer were repaired and reinstalled in 2016, with records noting a prior period of inoperative function; the odometer currently shows 22k miles, all added under the original owner’s care.
For collectors evaluating late air-cooled 911s, this Carrera S brought together original ownership, low indicated mileage, desirable factory options, and recent service documentation.
